EHSAS promotes sustainable environmental practices through its plantation and vermicomposting initiatives. These efforts aim to improve local ecosystems, enhance soil fertility, and promote organic waste management. We have undertaken:
1. Tree Planting Campaigns promoting the Community Involvement. Organized several tree planting drives involving local communities, schools, and volunteers to enhance green cover. The focus has been to prioritizing the planting of native tree species to support local biodiversity and create resilient ecosystems.
2. Rooftop and Vertical Gardens: Encouraging the development of rooftop and vertical gardens in urban areas to maximize green spaces and reduce urban heat islands.
3. Hydroponic farming has emerged as a sustainable and profitable alternative to traditional soil-based agriculture. This innovative method of cultivating plants without soil, using mineral nutrient solutions in a water solvent, offers numerous opportunities for earning income. These installations have helped several urban residents to grow their own fruits/vegetables within the constraints of space.
4. Vermicomposting: EHSAS bio-composting initiative focuses on promoting sustainable waste management practices by converting organic waste into valuable compost. This initiative not only helps manage waste effectively but also enhances soil fertility and supports environmental conservation. We have established vermicomposting units in community centers, schools, and public spaces to manage organic waste locally.Home Composting Kits are also available to encourage at-home composting.
